AAPA-AAI Job Descriptions
President Position Description
The President shall be the Corporation's chief
executive officer, is responsible for the corporation's business
and affairs, and will preside at all meetings. The President
will have knowledge of AAPA-AAI's interests and monitor the
progress of goals and objects and will coordinate the dissemination
of this information to members. This officer should have the
ability to conduct meetings, formulate ideas, consummate plans,
and delegate responsibility. In addition, the President is
also responsible for upholding the organization's policies
and procedures. The President should be available to other
officers and members by phone and at meetings.
Essential Functions
- Coordinate agendas for all Board of
Directors meetings and will preside over AAPA-AAI business
meetings and its Board of Directors
- Define and monitor the goals and objectives
of AAPA-AAI
- Provide strategic planning for 3, 5,
and 10 years
- Review the annual budget and make recommendations
- Make a full report of the year's activities
at the annual meetings, set up forums for discussion, and
appoint all standing committees and designate their respective
chairpersons, subject to Board approval
- Attend all Board of Director meetings
- Attend Leadership Summit and applicable
AAPA regional meetings, as assigned
- Recruit potential leaders and mentor
the President Elect
Qualifications:
- Member in good standing of the AAPA
and the AAPA-AAI
- Previous Board of Directors experience,
strongly recommended
- Knowledge of how to run a Board of
Directors meeting
- Excellent facilitation, communication,
delegation, leadership, and diplomacy skills
- Ability to multi-task and complete
projects on time
